The Homecoming

Truman CSG returns from deployment: wavy.com

Yesterday, we had the priviledge of attending the homecoming of the USS Truman, an aircraft carrier. It returned after a seven month deployment in the Gulf. It was a wonderful experience...except the fact that it was about 15 degrees with a 25 mile per hour wind. It was so wonderful to see all of the sailors eagerly disembark from the ship to the open arms of their friends and loved ones. It was very moving. My oldest daughter's boyfriend's father was on the ship, and he returned yesterday. His mom and dad are in this news clip. He has a mustache and she is wearing a blanket around her. She runs out to hug him. It was a great homecoming, and it really put us all in the Christmas spirit!
