Confession Tuesday

Well...it's been a while. I have been sick, practically half dead for a week now. I still feel really lousy, but I am at least able to get out of bed in the morning and go to work. All of the kids and Tom have been sick as well. I sure will be glad to see spring.

Needless to say I have been thinking about spring break...which brings me to Easter. Each year we make an Easter basket for the kids...and get them something fun. Last year they all three received rabbits. We now have three rabbits...that is a story to itself. Turns out that one of the three was a girl. That was exciting.

So this year we have been talking about getting the kids peacocks. Oh...excuse me, peafowl. I have been informed that if you have more than one peacock, then they are peafowl. Who knew.

Last week I was home several days due to my lovely illness. Each morning I was able to put Carson on the bus. That is a treat for me because on a normal day I leave to go to school right after getting him up. Tom puts him on the bus each day. So...on the mornings that I took him out to the bus, each day we were greeted by the guineas, turkeys and peafowl that belong to one of our neighbors. Now, I live in a city. We have a small piece of land, but we live in the city. There's a Walmart about three miles from my driveway. We are not really in the country. Yes, I know that there was a bear in my yard not that long ago, but really...we do live in the city.

Those birds who met us each morning were a hoot! They have such personality. I thought that they would be a great addition to the family. They are low maintenance...which is a must when you have a million kids like me. Well...I really only have three, but two are teen girls and they tend to multiply into clusters of teenagers. So I guess that's my confession for this Tuesday. I really want to get the kids peafowl for Easter even though I have no place to put them or time to spend getting after my kids to feed one more thing. I just think that they are cool.

By the way...be very selective went you use Google to search for "purchasing peacocks"...you can quite possibly get more than you bargained for...believe me...I know.

I've wondered where you've been! I hope you're feeling better.

And I have no idea what to tell you. Birds sort of scare me.
