Losing the Walmart Battle(field)

As I was taking a look at the news earlier this week, I came across an article which informed readers that they could chalk another one up for Walmart.

Much to my chagrin, I learned that the ongoing battle for the Wilderness Battlefield in northern Virginia, an historical site from the War Between the States, was lost to the huge department store chain. Despite the concerns of community members, voters, historians, environmentalists, and one of my favorite actors ever, Robert Duvall the town council voted to allow Walmart to build a "supercenter" literally on top of part of this historic site.

I have mentioned this previously hereand discussed how I L-O-V-E Robert Duvall, who by the by just happens to be a direct descendant of Robert E. Lee...not too shabby. He lives in that area, and he was an adamant objector to the building of ONE MORE FREAKIN' WALMART. Well, you know...cause there are just not enough of them.

I found it ironic that the people in the picture have signs that say, "Keep our $$ in our county." Uhhh...Yah. Do you know anything ABOUT Walmart?!? If they did and truly wanted their money to stick around their community, they would be "Keepin' It Weird."

Oh well...progress you know.
