Confession Tuesday

Today, though I am a little late, I hated to miss confession. I thought that I might confess a few of the things that I dread. Presently at work we are in the throws of SOL testing. Stop laughing. SOL stands for Standards of Learning...what did you think it stood for?!?!? It is a stressful time for me. Lots of computer stuff that has to be done, and I have long days. A good reason to dread.

Here's a list of a few things I dread in no particular order...
1. I dread my kid going to college...I am really starting to feel some anxiety about this. How the heck will I pay for college? How will I deal with her leaving? How will she deal with her leaving? What am I going to do without her here? Ok...I have to stop talking about that now...I am starting to hyperventilate...
2. I dread bathing suit shopping...for obvious reasons. I think that this could be considered torture in some countries. Did the suits get smaller or did I get bigger?!?! Don't answer that!
3. I dread laundry...right now I have the inevitable "travel laundry" in a huge pile in the laundry room. After taking a short trip this weekend, I have mountains of laundry from Tom and I plus the kids too. Laundry is the stinky part of traveling...literally.
4. I dread Tom's long summer work days. My husband's work is busy primarily in the spring and summer, so he has to get it done while there's work. However, this means that he has to work long days...sometime until dark. In the summer, dark can be 8 o'clock...that's a bummer for us because we don't get to see him until it's dark. At least none of us has to get up and go to school the next morning. :)
5. I dread my parents and Tom's parents getting older. I have some really anxiety over this one too. In the last couple of years, their health has not been what it once was. They are both starting to have some challenging issues. This change is difficult for me to see happening. Ok...I feel the hyperventilating beginning again...

I cannot believe that your baby is going to college. I have sprouted three grey hairs just thinking about that!

I know what you are saying about parents getting older. I honestly have 6 friends (including Regina and Sabrina) who's mothers are sick. Really sick.

Ugh.
