Tom and I went to see Pearl Jam last night at the Amphitheatre. Someone gave us tickets. I probably would not have bought them myself, but I was happy to receive them. Both of my sisters and their husbands joined us making it a fun night out for all of us...not my poor mother and father who kept ALL of the grandchildren overnight. They made it through the night alright. I checked on them this morning.I have never seen Eddie Vedder before though I have always enjoyed the music. I was never passionate about Pearl Jam, but I have had a cursory liking for them, at least until recent years with all of the political nonsense. For any celebrity who may read this in passing, I could not care less concerning your political opinion. Please do not confuse expertise or talent in your art for an informed opinion regarding politics. The two do not go hand in hand. If you can be positive, by all means contribute. Otherwise, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
However, I was pleased to hear him thank our men and women in uniform who were in attendance last night...see...be positive. :) That's great.
The show started a little rough. The sound was poor at first, but it was corrected quickly. He played many lesser know tunes, and he finished with the hits. To my great satisfaction he did the song from Into the Wild. Apparently Chris McCandless's sister was in attendance at the show last night as well. He dedicated the song to her. While it was touching, it was not overly emotional. He did a beautiful job. They closed with "Rockin' in the Free World" which was superb. I did enjoy the show...even more than I had anticipated.
I gave Tom tickets to see John Hiatt in High Point, NC for Father’s Day. I am really looking forward to that!

I agree with you regarding celebrities and politics. Most celebrities live in a nearly completely different situation than the vast majority of the American population. It's hard for me to give those opinions any weight whatsoever.
Anyway, at least the tickets were free.
When I went to see Dan Fogelberg about 12 years ago, he wouldn't stop about the rainforest...okay okay..I wanna save them too, but I I came for the music. If I wanted "issues" I can take the Metro into DC and be around politics all day long.
Again...at least it was free..Free is good.
Yes, I know what you are saying. Have seen my fair share. That said, U2 could blab about anything and I would believe them.
Ok, maybe not anything.
So, Pearl Jam, huh. Interesting.
