My first confession is the shame that I feel for neglecting to post here. I feel so bad that I nearly had myself convinced to give it up entirely..."just let it go, it's been this long..." I said to myself. I know that this would not be good. I need to make a better effort. I will not call it a resolution, because I think that they are bogus, but I will try to make a better effort.
We had a lovely holiday. Don't you love how people use the word "lovely"...it sounds so mature. I could just say that we had a great Christmas, but that sounds mundane. "Lovely" sounds so much better. We had lots of fun. It was an extra long break from school this year, and it was so nice to be able to spend the time with the kids and the rest of the family. They were able to spend the night with cousins and goof off without having homework or worrying about getting up for school. I didn't have to worry about getting up for school either! I could maintain a normal sleeping schedule. Staying up 'til 2 and sleeping until 9...What?!? That's normal. At least my body says it is...the getting up at 5:00 thing is NOT normal...
Joanna had a friend who come for a visit. She lived here and moved away last summer. She flew in from Florida to stay with us for a week. That was fun for her...mostly it meant chauffeuring and washing dishes for me, but they had fun. Charlotte received electric drums for Christmas. She plays flute, but she has delusions of playing percussion...it's a rock star fantasy thing I believe...so she has had fun with those. Thank you Lord for headphones is all I can say. Carson received lots of art supplies...an easel, paints, and the like. He has since written a book and illustrated it. I will try not to give anything away before his agent sends out the press release, but it's safe to say it's about a magical cardboard box which is supposed to be taking a kid and his two brothers to the North Pole, but accidentally takes them to Nevada. Very exotic...
Santa didn't bring me too much this year. He stopped by early on my birthday and brought Tom and I both a front loading washer and dryer...seems I was a little more happy with that than Tom...oh well...maybe he needs to learn to appreciate clean underwear. :)
Well...I am not sure that I have really confessed anything here. I do have a few goals this year...not resolutions mind you...goals. "They're more like guidelines..." and I quote...Maybe if I am better about keeping up with posting, it will help me keep heading in the right direction for my goals...it's a theory...
Happy New Year!!!
