It's Finally Friday

Charlotte and one of her BFF's Maria
Joanna and her BFF Amanda

So, I am among the living once again, and testing is over. Sorry for the long lapse in the saga of my life. I have been working ridiculously long days because of state mandated testing at my school, and I just have not had time to try to keep up with the blog.

It is now finished, however, and I am looking very anxiously to a three day weekend. I am still exhausted, but I am hanging on for today and plan to get lots of rest over the holiday.

Here's a summary of what's been going on in my life besides testing...

*Carson had his spring concert in which he played the recorder. We endured the screeching in exchange for the proud look that he wore when he passed us in the audience of parents who were jockeying for position with video camera in hand. We had an encore performance when we got home that evening which was wonderful as well!

*Charlotte had a small crisis when she inadvertently deleted a huge project on which she had been working for two weeks. We tried everything in the world to try to retrieve it to no avail...poor thing had to work feverishly to try to recreate it. She proudly received a perfect score on the second version.

*Joanna finally got her project for the NASA competition done. You can see it here. She will learn the results by June 6th. Cross your fingers for her. And on a totally unrelated note, she is still seeing the same boyfriend...been three whole weeks now! Oh...and she got a job!

*Both of the girls had their spring band concert last night. It was very nice, but a little sad for all of their friends who are seniors. Last night was their finally performance. High school is such a formidable time. Everyone was rather emotional...for ten minutes. Gotta love teenagers.

*Tom has been very, very busy with work. Seems everyone wants their house pressure washed for some outdoor activity this time of year. Considering the economy these days, we are very happy about dirty houses!

*And the biggest news of all... *insert drum roll here*... We have begun planning the next venture out west. We are almost there in preparing a trip this summer. We have four and a half weeks of camping in our future!!! It is still not 100%, but we are pretty sure we will be able to swing one last trip before our oldest leaves for college. And yes, Kristina, I will be coming to Utah! Not sure if I will get to come to a Meet and Greet, but I will be there in spirit and closer proximity. :)

So that's the short version of what's been happening in my life besides hours and hours of testing. I have missed everyone!
