I confess that I am in mourning today. It is a sad day indeed. I just read that GM will be closing the Pontiac line of cars. *sigh* No more GTO’s…no more Firebirds…*sigh*
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am really secretly in love with muscle cars. Some people develop a rubberneck for girls or guys when they are out driving. Not me. I practically cause accidents when I pass a good looking car. Now…I must admit that I am partial to GM vehicles. There’s nothing like a Camaro or Chevelle. I can say that I have an appreciation for Mustangs, but let’s face it…they are not Camaros. I find them to be one of the last bastions of American textile art. Don't get me started on motorcycles...
Yes, if I should ever win millions of dollars, I must confess that I just might throw down for a ’67 Camaro. Last Sunday Tom and I were in a grocery store parking lot, and we spied a gorgeous 1968 GTO convertible. We took the long way around the lot to get a better look, and we gave the guy a thumbs up to which he flashed a cheesy grin and just about burst with pride.
Bless his heart…that fella has to be happy. The value of his midlife crisis just went up about ten grand overnight!
