Confession Tuesday

Wow...I just realized that it has been almost two weeks since my last post. Time flies... We had spring break last week, and I don't think that I even touched a computer. I did check my email on my phone, and maybe I checked my Facebook once or twice on the phone, but otherwise...no computers for me. I will get my fill over the next month or so. I will be in the throws of SOL testing. If you are not from Virginia, the SOL's are the benchmark tests that are administered to students. They are all given online, so we will be using lots and lots of computers that I have to prepare for the students. Let's not talk about it...

Otherwise, I have been busy with lots of other stuff...Here's a list of what's been going on recently:

**We had a lovely Easter. We had dinner with Tom's family on Saturday evening, and we had lunch with my family after church on Sunday. My Sunday school class had a great lesson with "resurrection cookies" and much fun having an Easter egg hunt at church. Lots of work, but lots of fun too. As you can see from the picture...Carson truly enjoyed wearing the suit. He pretended that he was a Secret Service agent all day. It helped him tolerate the tie. Whatever it takes...you know?

**Took my oldest daughter who is a junior to look at a college over spring break. We drove out to Wise, VA to see University of Virginia at Wise. It's a branch school of UVA. It is about as far away from home as you can possibly get and still be in Virginia. Goodness gracious, I did not think that we would ever get there. We finally arrived after about 9 hours. Good night. I am really hoping that she does not choose it. It is just too far away.

**I was asked to write another article for essential connection magazine. Yeah! This will be my fourth article for them. Very exciting for me, as they are a national publication. Woo Hoo!

**Over spring break I bought all the supplies for my hanging tomato plant idea. I was able to get them planted and put my little herb garden on the top of the baskets. They are growing away! :) We have had a good deal of rain recently, and I think that has helped them get a jump start. I am excited to see how they will do. I will have to post pictures.

**Again, over spring break, or actually right before spring break, I came up with this little system for managing all of the "stuff" that I have to get done. I saw the "mom planner" or "mom agenda" on a blog...can't remember where...but that got me to thinking. I created my own "mom planner" and bound it, and I have been using it for almost a month now. I LOVE it! It has made my life so much better. It has really helped with planning and creating menus. We were eating out waaaaaay too much. It was killing us financially. This has been a great help. I will have to post a picture of it as well later. (Did I mention that I was a dork?...mom planner...really.)

**This weekend all of the teenagers at our church will be camping out at our house. I hope that I survive. We will have about fifteen teens in tents as well as fire. The weather is supposed to be great. I am sure that we will all have fun...and by all, I really mean them. :) We have lots of fun stuff planned, and I am sure that we (the adults) will have lots of fun too.

Well...I have to run now. I have much to do. If you looked in my "mom planner" you would see just how much! :)
