My name is Amy Jo, and I have a problem. I am addicted to strawberry banana smoothies. I need help.Somehow, I am not sure how, we discovered smoothies in our family. I can’t even remember how it happened. All I know is that I have to have one. Every day.
I have worn out the smoothie maker that Santa Claus bought for our family year before last. It’s on its last leg…and it’s time for a new one.
It started two summers ago. We are all fresh fruit fiends. In the summertime we eat lots of fruit and vegetables from local farmers. We live very near a fruit and vegetable stand where we are very fortunate to obtain such things. And now…I have developed an addiction.
It is sad. I now make about 7 or 8 smoothies at a time and keep them in the freezer. This way I have one on hand anytime I “need” one. All winter I have to go with strawberries and bananas only. I can hardly wait for cantaloupes to finally get here…I’ve been missing them all this time. I developed an affinity for cantaloupe when I was expecting my son. I would walk to the fruit stand and buy a cantaloupe. I would then promptly walk home and eat the ENTIRE thing. By myself. Pitiful, I know.
Some (smoothie) habits are just difficult to break. Baby steps, baby steps…

I haven't had one for ages, but I think it's calling my name!
