Because Sunday was such a nice day, we had the windows open. It was about 65*, and lots of sunshine. We even took a short motorcycle ride. All was well until about 9:30 Sunday night.Once the sun went down the house started to become a little cold, so I went around and shut all of the windows. Just as I was closing the living room windows, it happened. The house began to shake, and there was a loud booming. It sounded a little like a sonic boom which we occasionally hear because of the close proximity of the Navy base. However, it sounded differently than a normal sonic boom. Tom casually asked, "What was that? Is it thundering?" I was not sure what it was. I just responded, "I guess. I'm not sure what that was." Charlotte was finishing her homework on the computer and she noted the time...9:33 p.m.
So...for the confession? As silly as it is, I like conspiracy "stuff" for lack of a better description. You know...aliens, Bigfoot, the Trilateral Commission. Carson and I enjoy watching Monsterquest together. Even on an occasional sleepless night, it's Art Bell for me.
So my sister leaves a message for me. She had to work Sunday night. She is a 911 dispatcher. Apparently, Sunday night was insane. We were not the only ones who heard the loud boom, and not only heard it... lots and lots of people SAW it. Apparently a bunch of them thought it was the end of the world. Glad that I didn't have a real emergency Sunday night and need to call 911. She said that they had to call the Navy, the Coast Guard, all over the place to try to verify what the heck was happening. She said that she had to call NASA. Exactly how do you do that? "Yes Operator...could I have the number for NASA?"
But alas, it wasn't ET. It was just space ship parts falling to earth and thankfully not hitting anyone in the head or anything. Dang Russians. They need to be more careful with their space junk.

Glad it was just that. ;)
"Just" spaceship parts!? Does that happen often where you live? My son would absolutely love that! But as a mother, I have to say that I'm glad no one was hurt!
