Finally Friday

Though I am finally feeling a little better these days, I have been going to bed a little earlier recently just trying to get a little extra rest. I have been working all day, and so by the evening I am ready to go to bed.

Slipping into bed early has precluded me from laying out clothes for my son to wear to school which means that he has been left to his own devices, subject to dad's approval. Usually I lay out his shirt and pants so that I know he looks presentable for school each day. I leave for work early in the morning, and Tom gets him up and ready for school. I try to help out with choosing clothes.

I came home Wednesday afternoon, and my son greeted me at the door as usual. He gave me a big hug. As I stepped back, this is what I see...

*His short sleeve t-shirt (it was a high of 36* Wednesday) is inside out and the tag is hanging out

*His pants were taken from the "too little, goes to GoodWill" pile and were above his ankles, which was just dandy because is allowed everyone to see the two different socks that he was wearing...one of his and one of mine.

*He was wearing his "play" shoes which are ratty looking and only for playing outside in the yard

*He wore only his wind breaker jacket (with the t-shirt) instead of a coat (again...36*)

*His hair had that "ever-so-slightly" lilt to one side

But he was smiling, smiling, smiling. I was sure to lay out his clothes last night though.
