Tired, but we are THERE!

We drove all night. Tom drove for a while, but he had driven most of the last all-nighter and was tired. I drove through the end of Kansas and through Oklahoma and into New Mexico. We drove into Clayton, New Mexico and stopped for gas and everything. Then we drove on to Clayton Lake State Park. It was our first real glimpse of New Mexico because it was dark when we drove into the town. We drove into the park and slept for an hour and so. When we woke up it was GORGEOUS. Oh my goodness it was like nothing I had ever seen. It was so rocky and huge cliffs and the lake was built form the dam on the lake. It was so beautiful. We took a lot of pictures there because it was so pretty. The lake there had this one section where you could look at dinosaur footprints. It was very interesting. There were footprints from eight different kinds of dinosaurs. The kids really like seeing it. We took a little hike up to the top of the spillway to see the footprints and you could see the plateaus off in the distance. I’ve never seen anything like this place before. It looks just like the westerns on TV. Just beautiful. After we looked around at the Clayton Lake State Park, we drove on to the park where we wanted to stay.
